Grading Jared Goff’s Performance Against The Saints

Jared Goff started last week in Miami for the first time in his career. He had a decent game and it wasn’t his fault that the team lost. They also played against tough Miami Dolphins squad that’s just won their sixth consecutive game. He had an easier task this round and he took advantage of that.

Yes, his team did lose, but it was because of their defense. They allowed 49 points to this Drew Brees offense. Grant it, Saints are an offensive powerhouse. But still, you just can’t give up that many points when you have a rookie quarterback and when your team is leaning on you to produce and win the match for you.

This still doesn’t take away from the fact that Jared Goff had a great first half and a good game overall. He went 20/32 for 214 yards and three touchdowns before throwing one interception. In the process of tossing three TDs, he made sure that his targets were well fed and satisfied. All three of his TD passes were to different targets.

We need to give a solid B to Jared Goff in his second start. Yes, New Orleans defense is bad, but it’s still an impressive feat for a young rookie. He showed why Rams decided to take him with their number one overall pick in this year’s draft. His future looks bright, and it seems that LA made the right decisions.
