Now we know for sure that Google will present a series of new gadgets at the hardware event on October 4. According to VentureBeat, Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will also be presented at the event.

Rumors and speculations about the two new phones have been spread for few months. Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will go under the codenames Sailfish and Marlin respectively. HTC is supposedly going to construct the phones, which are will be a replacement to Nexus.

In June, Android Police was the first to detail the phone under the codename Sailfish. The Google Pixel is the smaller one and according to the reports, it will have a 5-inch 1080p display. The processor will be a quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit with 4GB of RAM. The rear camera will have 12MP whereas the front 8MP.

Moreover, it shall have 32GB of internal storage and 2770mAh battery. Furthermore, the headphone jack will be on the top of the phone, the USB-C port on the bottom and on the rear there will be a fingerprint scanner.

On the other hand, the Google Pixel XL will have similar specs, but it will be larger. As Android Police stated the XL will come with a 5.5-inch QHD display and a 3450mAh battery.

Evan Blass or @evleaks posted on Twitter that the phones will be available on Verizon. You can, of course, purchase it directly from Google.

The estimated starting price for the Google Pixel will be $649. This means that the beginning price is higher than any phone from Nexus lineup.
