The VR platform is now ready for developers to work after the new Google VR SDK was released, as it left the beta stage. The new kit is expected to allow the developers a chance to build any of the VR experiences they need for the Daydream ready phones and devices, the company said as they released the new daydream. They also noted that the new Daydream will now also support the integration of the Unity and Unreal game engines and their tools.

The company is said to have revealed the Daydream back during their I/O conference which took place earlier this year, and the company also had news that they were going to create their own Daydream virtual reality headset. The Daydream headset comes with the Android 7.0 (Nougat) preinstalled and it aims to give customers their favorite apps on the virtual reality.

Most of the apps which can be used with the platform will all be available at the date of the launch including Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Imax, NBA, CNN, The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Other game developers such as Ubisoft and Electronic Arts famous for games such as FIFA franchise will also be available.

Google has already stated in earlier announcements that the Daydream will come equipped a storefront for its VR content. The Daydream VR SDK 1.0 is a simplification of the common VR development task as the various developers can now work on the device and focus on creating their apps.

The SDK will be available to all interested partners through the Daydream developer website and will be able to support the asynchronous re-projection, with a high fidelity spatialized audio, and also has interactions with the Daydream controller.

Another new component is the native integration of the game Unity, which will now add the support for various features such as head tracking, deep linking, and the easy Android manifest configuration, Google noted. The Unreal engine integration has also been improved and will now include the Daydream controller support in the editor page, the neck model, some new rendering optimizations and various other new features.

Daydream ready phones will only enter the market from fall later this year and Google has been working to get the apps ready by then.
