Disney canceled the show Girl Meets World‘ on January 4, 2017. That official press release came just two weeks before the season 3 finale broadcast on the Disney Channel. Recently we have seen a message coming from the Twitter channel of the show stating it was over. Rowan Blanchard himself left a heart tearing post on Instagram where he expressed his feelings about the situation.

However, Michael Jacobs (showrunner) said that he was negotiating with other companies searching for a solution for the show on January 14. These were his exact words: ‘We are certainly having discussions, there are some interested platforms. I don’t think ‘Girl’ should have been canceled. We signed to do four seasons. I thought we would be able to tell stories through four seasons. That’s the way we set it up. It was going to be a remarkable final year. But I understand, things end.’

And now, three months later we got a final notice from the official Twitter account of the show. Unfortunately, they were unable to find ‘a new venue’ for the show.
‘I wasn’t able to find a new venue for the show. I’m sorry. We brought our best and hope we made you think and feel. Until next time. Thanks.’

Some of the most ‘realistic’ hopes of fans were that the series (season 4) might be streamed on Netflix or Hulu, as was the case with numerous other (canceled) shows. But this time it simply couldn’t happen. This show was based (kind of a spinoff really on a show named ‘Boy Meets World‘ which aired from 1993 to 2000. It revolved around Cory Matthews’ life (played by Ben Savage). ‘Girl Meets World’ revolved around his daughter Riley and longtime love Topanga (played by Danielle Fishel).
