The former George Michael’s manager Michael Lippman states that the cause of death of the famous musician is a heart failure, while the British tabloid Daily Mail writes that the death of the pop icon ensued after he had spent 18 months in the most expensive treatment center in Switzerland, The Kusnacht Practice near Zurich.

Rumor has it that George Michael was in Zurich to fight depression which was caused by his unsuccessful and long-term battle with HIV. However, the famous singer didn’t want to reveal his reason for going into the treatment center to the public.

In 2011, he ended up in a hospital in Vienna, and he was diagnosed with pneumonia, but this caused speculations to spread that he was HIV positive. His PR denied these speculations, as he wrote in the official statement: ”George Michael suffers from pneumonia and every other speculation about his disease is incorrect.”

During his life, Michael had issues with illegal substances, and in 2010 he even crashed into the store with his Range Rover after which he went on a 14-day detoxification so that he could later explain that he was addicted to sleeping pills.

We cannot be sure whether the treatment in Zurich actually helped George Michael or whether the heart attack was really the cause of his tragic death, as his managers say. The police will conduct a full investigation in Michael’s home in Oxfordshire in order to find out something more.

Upon his death, Michael Lippman stated to The Hollywood Reporter: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”
