Blue Oval recently revealed their Ford F-150 RTR Concept truck at SEMA. Fortunately for those who scorned Ford for placing a turbocharged V-6 in the latest Raptor, this F-150 will feature a V-8 engine from RTR!

Ready to Rock is what RTR stands for, and it is a semi-official performance division created by the U.S. carmaker in partnership with world champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. Ford offers its customers a number of dealer-installed performance add-ons, and they are all part of this pack. The latest performance pack is Mustang GT’s RTR Spec 3 pack.

When it comes to this division’s vehicles, we only had the chance to see Gittin Jr’s pick, and that is the Mustang. However, on Tuesday they presented an F-150 RTR which is a newcomer in the division based on the 2018 Ford F-150 4×4 Lariat SuperCrew. We have to say that the truck is still only a concept and according to company’s promises it will be able to deliver over 600 horsepower.

Unfortunately, RTR wasn’t so keen to reveal more details, however, they claimed that the powertrain features a supercharger and Magna Flow exhaust system. When it comes to the transmission, the truck will use the F-150’s 10-speed automatic.

RTR also did not say anything about chassis mods. But what we gathered from the presentation suggests that we should expect enhanced travel coil-overs and rear dampers, heavy-duty rear axle, new springs, extended double wishbones and Currie Enterprise’s full floating hubs. This truck will feature RTR’s own Tech 6 off-road design wheels that will be wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler tires.

The mods combined with the custom grille and pumped fenders give this truck a low, wide and aggressive stance but nothing too flashy. Just enough for a clear statement. Katzkin was in charge for the interior, and the truck will have a dash plaque bearing the signature of no one other than the man himself, Gittin Jr.

We still don’t know when the F-150-based performance pack will be released and unfortunately we can’t tell you anything about the price either. But stay tuned because we are sure that soon we’ll know more about this beast.
