Everybody has watched at least one Fast and Furious movie, and the entire franchise is one of the most successful in Hollywood. The Fate of the Furious was released, and the film has been watched in theaters all across the globe, but not everything is flawless. Namely, actress Michelle Rodriguez is dissatisfied with the gender equality on the set, and she took her anger to social media. She wrote on Instagram: “I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one.” She continued by adding “Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise.”

However, this has not been the first time for Michelle Rodriguez to express dissatisfaction with the role of women in the show. When she talked to Entertainment Weekly back in May, she said that the cast and stories are dominated by men and those things “weigh heavy” on her mind. The Fate of the Furious may have been the last movie with Letty in it.

First, we have followed the Dwayne Johnson – Vin Diesel feud and now Michelle Rodriguez is frustrated with the role of women. Obviously, there is a lot of heart to the franchise. We can understand Rodriguez because she has been in the family from the beginning and she has never been regarded as a cornerstone of the franchise like Vin Diesel is, The Rock has become, and Paul Walker was.

Furthermore, only she and Nathalie Emmanuel are leading two women, whereas there are always seven to eight main guys, so that is also a valid argument. However, Charlize Theron played the antagonist in the last film, and she was a pretty important character.

Perhaps Rodriguez is stressed about continuity among the female stars. Let us elaborate – Jordana Brewster and Gal Gadot are gone as well as Elsa Pataky, whereas Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey played supporting roles and nothing else. Letty probably wants women to have more influence in the story, and we understand her point of view. She has been here for a while, and maybe something needs to be done about that in the next Fast and Furious.
