Family Guy is one of the most popular TV shows around nowadays. South Park, Simpsons and Futurama are up there with it because of their genuine humor. It doesn’t really matter whether you’ve been watching Peter Griffin from the beginning or you’ve just tuned in on YouTube live stream in the previous weeks this show guarantees laughter at first sight! For 14 seasons the series survived, and it just proves its uniqueness and quality!
Even though Seth MacFarlane, the creator and primary voice, has a lot on his plate because of the sci-fi series ‘The Orville’ he won’t give up on the Family Guy. The upcoming season is set to launch in fall 2017! Recently Fox has confirmed the date of the premiere.
SEASON 16 PREMIERE DATE
Dubbed Season 15 even though it’s technically Season 16, the Family Guy will return on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 9.00 pm sharp. That won’t be the only treat for us because Simpsons will air at 8.00 pm and they are followed by Family Guy, but on top of that, we will have the opportunity to see a new supernatural live-action comedy called ‘Ghosted’ at 8.30 pm. This one will also have its premiere night on the October 1.

Even though this announcement may seem ordinary since this trend has been going on for quite a few years, it wasn’t always like this. Family Guy aired for the first time in 1999 and even though it was canceled it resurrected in 2005. Last year fans were caught in a bit of an awkward situation. Seth MacFarlane had his focus on the writing of The Orville, and he also had to deal with his role in directing Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky hence there was no confirmation in the beginning that the Family Guy will continue. Ultimately it was confirmed, but the situation didn’t look as promising at the time.

One sad thing that happened and that will surely affect the show is the passing of Adam West. Mr. West was the guy who lends his voice to Mayor West. Surely the producers had to face this additional challenge for the upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see how they handled it.
