Facebook Inc (FB) Launches Instant Articles to All on iPhone

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) made its Instant Articles available to everyone using the Facebook for iPhone app today. The social networking giant announced on its blog:
“We’re excited to announce that everyone who uses the Facebook for iPhone app can now read thousands of Instant Articles every day in News Feed. Starting today, people will see a lightning bolt on the top right corner of some stories shared in News Feed.”

Facebook said that the lightning bolt is an indication that it’s an Instant Article and when users tap it, the story will load 10 times faster than regular mobile web articles.

According to Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), the new fast articles gives users a richer experience enabled by dynamic features such as Instant Articles from NBC News autoplay video feature that makes the video start automatically as the user scrolls the article.

Another cool feature is the Atlantic photo blog in Instant Articles that gives users the abilioty to zoom in on the details of the high-resolution photos in articles all by just tilting the phone a bit.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) said that current publishers using the new articles feature are National Geographic, BuzzFeed, The New York Times, NBC News, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post and others in addition to many more will be added in the coming weeks.

Instant Articles for Android already has a public beta and will be launching later this year.
