Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Movie Characters As Presidents

Source: rogerebert.com

Dwayne Johnson said it himself that he may run for president in his interview with GQ, and it was all fun at the beginning, but he could actually do that. Even though he lacks political experience (Donald Trump lacks that too), Johnson is charismatic, and he would really have a chance. On the other hand, don’t you think that it would be irresponsible to vote for The Rock even though we love him? Politics is a serious business, and we should not take it lightly. Let’s move this to a whole new level – what if a character Dwayne Johnson portrayed in his movies were to become a president. Which character would you choose?

Mathayus, the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns – The Worst President

Basically, he is a monarchist who cares not about constitutional democracy, and he is devoted to an army of jackals. Moreover, he is an ancient being from ancient Egypt, which means that he wasn’t born in the US and just this makes him disqualified.

Agent Hobbs From Fast and Furious – A good but bad President

Even though agent Hobbs seems like a good pick, he would actually be a poor president. First of all, he has some qualities – he is a great parent, and as a man already employed by state knows his way around complex government bureaucracies which means that he would understand and do his job well. However, his judge of character is plain awful. His enemy Deckard Shaw almost killed him, but by the end of the movie, these guys became friends. We don’t need a president who cannot tell the difference between enemies and friends.

Furthermore, he got beat up by Dominic Toretto, allowed his convoy to get ambushed which killed some of his men and did some other things which would not be great for the Oval Office. Even though he is a smart guy in general, he gets outsmarted in numerous occasions, and as you see, Hobbs is not the right pick for president.

Mathayus, the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns and Bob Stone from Central Intelligence – A bad but good President

What if Mathayus would actually be a good president of the US? From the other point of view, he is a good ruler and has experience, he understands what it is like to be a common person, and he despises cruel punishment. Moreover, he has a ponytail, and it is high time we have a leader with a ponytail.

Here we have another character – Bob Stone. He is weird, there is no doubt about that, but also he is a high-level strategist who works for the government, and he is not naïve. Stone is way better than Mathayus though, who is not even born in the States, as we have already mentioned.

Boxer Santaros from Southland Tales – Similar to the Current President

Boxer is basically on the side of the Republicans, and he is an entertainer who is confused and trying to find himself in a surreal America stricken by disaster. He doesn’t really understand what is going on around him and this is why he is similar to the current president.

John Matthews from Snitch and Chris Vaughn from Walking Tall – The Best President

For those who don’t know, John Matthews is a construction company owner who becomes a drug ring snitch, and this sounds bad, but just wait. He doesn’t have experience in politics but grasps the importance of numerous domestic policy issues such as compulsory minimum sentence downsides, prison reforms, programs from employing ex-cons. He can overcome a crisis, he learns from his mistake, and he would be a great US president.

On the other hand, we have Chris Vaughn from Walking tall. Where do we even start? He is a former sergeant in the US Army Special Forces, a good fighter, good at football and is an anti-drug person. In addition, he knows the law system because he got cleared of all charges and he managed to do it by himself, and he won an election against an incumbent sheriff. Chris is also against gambling, and he created jobs by reopening the mill. Let’s give Johnson’s Vaughn four or five years and see what he can do. He is indeed the best choice.
