Perhaps all the talk about Dwayne Johnson running for a president in 2024 isn’t foolish. You must have heard about rumors surrounding The Rock and the story that he might run for a president, and it now appears that he could actually do it.

At a panel at Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con this weekend, Dwayne Johnson addressed the crowd and hinted at the possible slogan of his campaign: “I think the ‘People’s President’ has a really nice ring to that. I’ll just say that.” He is definitely making a reference to “The People’s Elbow” which was a signature move he used to do in his wrestling days.

The first time The Rock actually talked about going into politics and becoming a presidential candidate was in his interview with GQ after Donald Trump’s sensational victory. At the time, Johnson said: “I think it’s a real possibility. Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody.”

One of the fans of the popular Hollywood actor even created a campaign to draft Johnson as a 2024 presidential candidate. It was a 26-year-old Kenton Tilford from West Virginia who launched the “Run The Rock 2024” with the Federal Election Committee. Tilford truly believes that the popularity of this wrestler turned actor will unite the country and that he has the quality to be a good president.

He told CNN: “I’ve been discussing (this committee) with friends for some time, but I ultimately decided to create the committee because America is incredibly divided. With this level of vitriol and anger, I believe we desperately need a leader who can unite us and not just pander to a small base of supporters.”

He continued: “I’m a fan of The Rock. He’s an amazing entertainer and the causes he champions are truly inspiring to me. Of course, he doesn’t have the experience in government that has been typical. But I think we’ve seen voters reject the notion that inexperience disqualifies you from serving. His broad, uniting appeal is without parallel in our divided country.”
