Dwayne Johnson will be in the Baywatch reboot together with Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach and Priyanka Chopra, but he is also famous for many other things. His life, for example, is as thrilling as some of his movies. He played football, then he switched to professional wrestling and gained many fans along the way thanks to his character and a raised eyebrow.

After that, The Rock became a Hollywood star, appearing in movies such as Central Intelligence with Kevin Heart, animated film Moana and successful franchise Fast and Furious. Moreover, he’s got an HBO series called Ballers and he always has some time to greet his fans.

Johnson was married to Dany Garcia, but the marriage ended up in divorce on good terms and Garcia they still run the production company, Seven Bucks. They have a daughter called Simone, but Johnson has a baby girl Jasmine with his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian, whom he plans to marry.

Elle has interviewed Dwayne Johnson who had a lot of interesting things to say.

The first question was about Dwayne using cologne to get into character. He also had to pick one for Mitch Buchannon in Baywatch. The Rock responded: “Mitch’s fragrance was Kenzo pour Homme. [Laughs] I’m really weird that way. I try to stay at 30,000 feet and have that perspective. But when it boils down to these little things, there was always something sensory to me. That particular scent reminded me of the outdoors and being by the water. It wasn’t a complicated smell.”

He also talked about losing his virginity. The Hollywood star openly stated: “Um…I wouldn’t have been so good at it? I mean, where do you go after that.… [Laughs] That’s the A side to the answer. Now the B-side to that is—I would not have been in a park. I would have preferred not to have been caught by the cops.”

He confirmed that this really happened: “Yes, my friend. We shouldn’t have been in the park in the first place. All of a sudden, a big spotlight came on us. Bang. You hear the cop roll down the window and say, “Ma’am, are you okay? Will you come to the car?” She gets dressed, comes to the car. They say, “Are you being attacked?” She says, “No, that’s my boyfriend.” It was a complete nightmare. [Laughs] Some stories are beautiful, but mine was not.”

Then, he talked about him shaving his body and how that helped him understand women better. Johnson said: “I’ve got a big body, so it’s a lot of ground to cover. I go through about a can and a half of shaving cream. It takes about 35 minutes. Not only do I empathize with women, I know this is just a fraction of what they have to go through.”

Furthermore, Johnson found similarities between Maui’s arrogance and himself in the past.

“There was a time in my twenties and thirties when I had an ego—a very healthy ego, as we all do—but I didn’t do a very good job of managing it. It was very damaging to my marriage. I didn’t even recognize the arrogance was there. I was extremely judgmental. Then all of a sudden, the divorce happens. We’re very good friends today,” Johnson told Elle.

“They run a company together, which is a modern story. It’s ultra modern. It’s hard for people to understand. But when they see it, it’s inspiring. The arrogance and the ego is one of the key success inhibitors. Once I recognized it then I was able to start from zero again and build back into the man I am today,” added Johnson

He also talked about his team and all the women in it and how it is like being a dad at 45. Johnson jokes: “It’s 80/20 [women to men] on the team. We have to make sure that we are constantly checking the male ego. [Laughs] Personally, I was raised by women. The anchoring point and foundation of my tattoo is the spirit of a woman. It’s called Pua Mana in Polynesian.”

“I was in my twenties when I had Simone. I was still flying by the seat of my pants. I was wrestling and thinking, Can I make the transition to Hollywood? Now I’m in my fourth level of life— Fourth level, buddy! I’m in this amazing relationship with Lauren. I think the number one thing about being here and having the honor of another baby and a marriage down the road is being present in every little moment with a higher level of gratitude and humility,” continued Dwayne.

He discussed whether actors should be involved in politics and whether he will be running for office one day. Here is what he said:

“I feel hopeful, but that’s in my DNA. I look for the hope. I look for the opportunities for us to be better. Actors have a platform, especially during awards season. Which I respect. Everyone should speak out. Here’s the thing: When it comes to using the platform, I’m a firm believer that when there’s something that needs to be said, I’ll say it.”

“It’s something that I gave my word that I would consider. We’ve had a lot of internal conversations, and I have a great team around me that continues to grow. I have a lot of friends in politics on both sides. And as the people continue to respectfully inquire about it, I’ll respectfully consider it.”
