An impressive list of movies that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is preparing might affect G.I. Joe 3 as the actor has only a little time available in his busy schedule. Looking at what he is making it is possible that the sequel will have to wait for all the way to 2019.
First movie, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was launched in 2009 and Paramount Pictures, and Hasbro hoped that this one could earn a similar level of glory like Michael Bay’s Transformers. This wasn’t the case, and even the movie was a success it didn’t reach the heights they hoped to see. The sequel was a completely different story and with the addition of Dwayne The Rock Johnson movie skyrocketed in popularity earning more than $375 million in the box offices all around the world.
It was the time when Dwayne Johnson popularity saw the insane rise and one of the ways to improve your franchise is to add him to the mix. We saw that with the Fast & Furious where he managed to make it even more popular than it already was with great crew it had.
One of the problems that you might face if you decide to add The Rock into the mix is that he is insanely busy, and that you might need to wait for him to have enough time to devote to another project. Currently, he is tied up with movies like Fast 8, Baywatch, Jumanji, Journey 3, Moana, etc. Some of these are already done, and some are just starting, but you know that even for the finished projects there are marketing and promotional duties.
On top of all this, we could hear, and even see, few photos of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Reports suggest that he is going to enter DC Extended Universe meaning more movies in his busy schedule. Simply put, all these movies are very important, and we can’t imagine dropping one of those for G.I. Joe 3.

Here is his statement: “I heard from the studio that there’s a possibility to do the third one, but I think they’re waiting for the actors’ schedules. They’re arranging the schedules for the actors, especially Dwayne Johnson.”
