We’re sure all parents will agree that sleepless nights are part of their everyday routine, and, according to Dwayne Johnson, celebrities are no exception. Late-night feedings and early-morning waking, and, of course, all the crying in between are the main reasons why many moms and dads around the world suffer from sleep deprivation. Needless to say, the quality of sleep is directly related to one’s ability to bring up a child and be a good parent, however, finding the balance between the two is quite a tricky task.
The Rock has recently opened up on the topic when he posted on his Instagram a photo of himself with his 2-year-old daughter and added a caption “Working late and had only 3hrs sleep when this tornado busts in our bedroom, jumps on me and pleads with me to get up,” he wrote about his beloved Jasmine. His idea was to encourage people to “always take these moments when [you] can, even when you’re tired as hell.” Of course, he too is sleep-deprived, but he still acknowledges that “there’s gunna come a time when jumping in [his arms] is the last thing [his daughter] wants to do.”

Working late and had only 3hrs sleep when this tornado 🌪 busts in our bedroom, jumps on me and pleads with me to get up and take her to my closet (she keeps toys in my closet) to play. We get there and then – surprise – she refuses to play and just wants me to hold her while she makes fart noises 💨🤦🏾♂️ Tired as all hell, but thought ehh there’s gonna come a time, years from now when jumping in my arms is the last thing she wants to do and ain’t gonna be cool anymore — so I’ll always take these moments while I can. Somewhere @kevinhart4real is crying and wishes he was her.
Naturally, just because his sleep deprivation will get more media attention, it doesn’t mean that the former wrestler is the only exhausted parent out there. According to CDC, “one in three adults don’t get enough sleep.” No matter how precious every single moment with your little ones is (no one argues with that), it still is of utmost importance to also find time to get some rest necessary both for your body and your mind, as the lack of sleep can sometimes lead to a higher risk of obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.
There are also some other things you need to consider when you are not getting enough sleep, and that is safety in traffic. You need to always keep close attention both on the road and on your kids, and therefore you should try and get enough rest. Other than that, be sure that you get the best convertible car seat so it would protect your baby at all times.
So, all things considered, you have to find some balance, and according to the National Sleep Foundation, you should include plenty of exercise during the day, steer clear from sugar, nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine, and try taking a nap at the same time as your baby. If you do manage to find the balance, you will keep both your child and yourself healthy and happy.
