Dwayne Johnson Asks Fundraising For Kauai

Dwayne Johnson is not shy about doing good deeds, and he just recently did another one. After floods have hit Kauai, he posted an Instagram video which asks for help to the victims of these floods. At the moment he is in Hawaii filming his latest blockbuster Jungle Cruise. But, a good guy like him took some time off and addressed those in need.

This clip was captioned with a message for those who are helping out and to citizens of Kauai from Jumanji: Welcome To the Jungle actor: “Stay strong Kauai! Thank you to all the rescue workers and volunteers working tirelessly to help rebuild our communities and assist our local families. Proud of our fighting spirit and proud to bring our JUNGLE CRUISE production back home to HAWAII.”

Rampage star also posted a link to a non-profit group which will collect the funds for those who were hit by devastating floods. The name of this group is Malama Kauai.

Johnson filmed the video on the site in Kauai, and he couldn’t hide his delight at being back to Hawaii, and making one of his movie projects there. Fast & Furious star said: “And I’ve never been more proud than I am right now because I get off the plane and I can feel the mana, I can feel the Polynesian spirit, that Aloha spirit, that fighting spirit, because we are rebuilding now.”

Dwayne Johnson is one of those people who are very proud of their roots, and he always likes to point out to his Polynesian heritage. He finished his video by saying: “In Kauai and in our Hawaiian islands, we’ve been devastated by volcanoes, by the earthquakes, by the floods, by the rains. We are working closely here in Kauai with Malama Kauai which is helping restore our communities and rebuild, and you know, our Polynesian spirit, our Polynesian people; it’s what we do. We come back stronger. So we’re going to get through this, Kauai. Stay strong…”

It’s good to see Johnson using his star power this way and turning attention to those in need. Thanks to this Instagram post at least 2.5 million people have heard of the misfortune that hit the people of Kauai.
