Dwayne Johnson officially climbed aboard the DC Extended Universe three years ago, but there is still no information about the Black Adam spin-off release date. The Rock is scheduled to appear in the upcoming Shazam! movie (this might not happen according to latest reports) which will be directed by David Sandberg, but he hinted at the director for Black Adam.

Before you can see what Johnson posted, we need to say that he has a lot of influence over at Warner Bros. and he has been close with DC giant Geoff Johns since he signed on. Dwayne wrote a post about the movie IT which is going to be released soon, and he congratulated director Andy Muschietti for his work.

Johnson wrote: “And most of all congrats to director, Andy Muschietti for making such a defining film. You knocked it outta the park! Great talking with you man and we’re gonna have some fun working together down the road. As a huge fan of the horror genre, this one’s special.”

🎈 I saw an early screening of IT a few months ago and it instantly became one of my all time favorites. Easily TOP 10 all time. Not only does it redefine the horror genre, but it’s so layered, smart and brilliantly scary. Congrats to the awesome young cast aka The Losers Club for killing their performances. To Bill Skarsgard for delivering an iconic performance as Pennywise. And to the entire crew and my good buds at Warner Bros/New Line. And most of all congrats to director, Andy Muschietti for making such a defining film. You knocked it outta the f*cking park! Great talking with you man and we’re gonna have some fun working together down the road. As a huge fan of the horror genre, this one’s special. Have you fully recovered @simonegjohnson? 😉 #IT Congrats David Katzenberg you handsome MF!

It is far-fetched, but we could assume that our favorite actor hinted at the future cooperation between him and Muschietti. We would love to see them working on Black Adam, but you should bear in mind that this is only a rumor and there is no concrete information to underpin this claim.

Shazam is going to be released two years from now, whereas Black Adam is expected to follow shortly after. The next movie on the schedule is Justice League, directed by Zach Snyder and it will hit the theaters on November 17. While you are waiting for this superhero-packed film, you can watch IT in cinemas across America at the moment.
