Google Play

Users of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Office apps can now download and use the apps easily via Google Play.

In the beginning of November 2014, Microsoft brought up a preview of three new apps- Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android tablets. With the help of this the Android tablet’s users were able to create, edit and save their Office content without subscribing to Office 360.

Customers only had to sign up for the preview. Until then one could use these Office applications only when they received invite for it from Microsoft through Office for Android community on Google+.

Microsoft, however, has now opened the apps for everyone to use on a compatible device (i.e. ARM based Android tablet running Lollipop or KitKat, with screen size between 7″ and 10.1″).

On January 6, 2015, Microsoft announced that they are expanding the preview of the application. The applications are still in “preview” mode as the manufacturer wants more reviews from the users. The final official launch is also expected soon.
Features:
• Can access, create, edit or view Office documents almost anywhere.
• The documents looks like the one you see on computers.
• Supports charts, animation, shapes, graphics, etc.
• View and edit Office documents attached to email and attach the same.
• Automatically resumes reading from the point you left it or last viewed from your PC or tablet.
• Easy and faster browsing through PowerPoint slides.
• Edits and changes done to the document from the phone or tablet will not be damaged when you open them in your PC.

With many similar application, which have been launched long back, and users using them well before Microsoft came up its Office in app market, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has to survive many tough competitors. Users were comfortably using other apps. Now let’s see Microsoft Office on tablets and phones makes a difference.

While some are excited to download and use the app, satisfied after installing and using the app, some are still finding it hard to work on it.
