According to the FCA, Dodge Challenger and Charged will not be replaced until 2024. These two cars and perhaps Chrysler 300 will use the Giorgio platform in 2024. Furthermore, the carmaker will stop producing one of the large sedans in 2024 as the internal sources claim. However, it is not known which one will face this destiny.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia will hit the US market by the end of 2016 and this is important because the car uses the Giorgio platform. The Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne said that he was:”encouraged by the versatility of the architecture that was planned at the time in which the Giulia was launched.”

He also declared: “I think it’s proved out to be all and more than we expected, and I think its utilization across a wide range of applications within the group is probably the most beneficial thing we’ve done from a technical development here in a long time.”

If the global carmaker plans to support the Challenger and Charger with the Giorgio platform, they may need to enlarge it slightly, especially for the future models. The platform is supportive enough in case the company decides to produce a new soft-top roof.

However, 2024 is far away and meanwhile the FCA needs to refresh these models first.
