The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, claims that he expects a successful week in the upcoming Paris tournament.

“So far, everything has been fine. I honestly hope that it will stay this way and that I will have a successful week in Paris,” said Djokovic.

He will compete in the BMP Paribas Masters tournament in Paris, which lasts from October 31 to November 6. Djokovic won three titles here in the last three years.

Novak Djokovic declared:“I will enter this tournament like any other, with optimism, hope, and faith that I can go as far as possible. My expectations are high, but I try to focus on the present and go step by step. My next challenge at this point is to practice and boost my form to the maximum level so that I can beat any player, especially in Paris and London where I won many titles in the last four-five years.”

The Serbian player was asked whether he feels a lot of pressure, considering that the British Andy Murray is just one step behind him on the ATP standings. He stated that he wanted to focus on himself and his game.

“I focus on myself only, and that is the only thing I can control. Andy is playing an amazing tennis and he definitely deserves to be here and compete for the number one spot. In the second part of the season he hasn’t lost many matches, he does play the best tennis currently, he achieved some impressive results and I congratulate him on that. Andy must be very motivated, which you can see on the court, but it is not only up to him. I will take matters into my own hands,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic, as the first seed, will not play in the first round and he will face either the Spaniard Nicolas Almagro or Gilles Muller from Luxemburg.

Djokovic added:“Almagro and Muller are different types of players, but they play good tennis. Muller almost won against Kei Nishikori in Basel, which proves that he is ready. Be that as it may, I need to focus on myself and my own game. It won’t be easy, that is for sure.”
