Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts – Preseason Week 1 Predictions

The Detroit Lions made the Playoffs last year behind some heroic play from Matthew Stafford in the fourth quarters of the games. They had a lot of comebacks on the year and finished as the sixth seed in the NFC, but have drastically fallen off in the ladder part of the year. The offense is decent, just like the defense, but nothing tells us that they are going to be able to repeat what they did in 2017.

Indy Colts have missed the Playoffs for two straight seasons, mostly because they don’t have a lot of weapons outside of Andrew Luck. He spent a lot of time injured which caused this team to drop in the standings really fast. Last season had its ups and downs, but in the end, they have fallen short of their goal. Now, they are hoping that Luck can stay healthy and that the defense is on the rise.

Colts haven’t really put a lot of help around Luck. Part of the reason that he is getting injured is the fact that defensive linemen are beating Colts o-line. Yes, he is the leader and should play like the best player on the team he is, but football is the ultimate team sport and he needs help like everybody else.

Luck is going to miss this game which is going to put Scott Tolzien in the starting lineup. As far as Detroit goes, they will likely play their starters, but not past the first half. In the end, the game is in Indy and we are going to pick them to win this game 24:20.
