“Death Parade” Season 1 ended in a very satisfying way since Decim, at last, welcomed the new guests to Quindecim and arbiters realized what the reality of human emotions and feelings is.

On the other hand, there are many questions that were left unanswered, and that will hopefully be explained in the second season of this anime series.

Characters like Oculus still have a gloomy background and carry unresolved mysteries which might be explained in the next season, according to Anime Arena Plus. Namely, Decim along with other permanent members of “second world” possess certain kind of power which Oculus doesn’t have since he’s not the same as them.

However, we never got an explanation in the first season why this was the case and whether Oculus might possess some different powers without him being aware of it.

In the last episode of Season 1 named “Suicide Tour,” Oculus called himself a puppet. By this utterance, he referred to a more powerful figure who controls the world and for whom he works.

Therefore, the sequel will presumably explore the intriguing past of Oculus and his origins, except for finding out who the entity under whom he works is.

In the finale of the first season, Oculus faced Nona who wanted to prove that arbiters are more than puppets and Decim took Chiyuki to her old house and offered her the possibility to be brought back to life in exchange for another’s life.

She eventually refused it, which affected Decim’s emotions. Nona and Oculus watched the outcome and showed that it was important to understand humans’ suffering when judging them. While Nona and the other arbiters were thinking what would happen next, Decim welcomed new guests to the Quindecim and the episode ended.

Although Death Parade Season 2 hasn’t been officially confirmed, there is a high possibility it will be made since there are so many unanswered questions left that everyone is eager to get an explanation for.

  1. We know god is supposed to be the top guy and they mentioned it a few times but earlier in the season Oculus said something like god is gone, meaning there was a god controlling the system but he either went on a vacation or someone killed god (I think Oculus killed him since he has said he is the closest one in power to god). Lastly, if someone is looking up about season 2 most likely they have finished season 1, so you can add the fact that the camera pans and shows Chiyuki sitting in a chair beside the bar before the credits role.
