After the initial Deadpool project proved as a genuine success, the sequel came as a natural option. The first movie was a blockbuster which generated more than $783 million. The same is expected from the second installment which will come out in 2018.

To ensure the same result for the Deadpool 2 producers of this movie decided to do a thorough casting for the new characters. The old cast which includes Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Stefan Kapicic as Colossus are all making a comeback.

They will be backed up by adding new characters such as Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and Jack Kesy (Black Tom) among others. The process of selecting actors for Deadpool 2 was a long one where every detail was taken into account. But the biggest problem of them all was to choose the man who will play Nathan Summers.

Yes, the list of actors which wanted top play Cable was really long. There were those that the studio, producers, and Ryan Reynolds wanted, and there were those that were fan favorites. The role was eventually given to Josh Brolin. Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, David Harbour, Stephen Lang, Russell Crowe, and Michael Shannon were just some of the names in the mix.

But one name, which got the approval of the fans before the casting was made public was Ron Perlman! After the news broke out the fans had a strong opinion that he should be the one to carry the title of Cable. And, as things stand now it seems that the actor himself thinks that he could be an excellent Cable. In recent AMA on Reddit, the actor was asked: “What is a project that you missed out on working on that you wish you had worked on?”

Ron Perlman gave an interesting answer: “There are none. And I repeat, I’m so bad Cable should be playing me. I’m a bad man.”

He didn’t explicitly said that he wanted to play Cable, but read between the lines. There’s a reason why he mentioned Cable.
