David Irving, a defensive lineman and one of the key players for Dallas Cowboys, has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the regular season leaving Dallas stranded and in need for a replacement. This team has players to choose from, and one of those guys may be the youngest pass rusher on the roster.

We are talking about rookie Taco Charlton, a talented young player who might be the first option as Irving’s replacement, but he is definitely going to be a productive member of the Cowboys squad in the future. It is still too early to talk about his performance, but he is expected to get playing time. If he makes an impact during training camp, he might earn some valuable minutes on the field, particularly at the beginning of the season.

However, a new member of the team Damontre Moore could also get an opportunity to show off his skills, and he will have a bigger role in the training camp. He has been inconsistent so far, but this is his chance for a new start. Over the course of his career, Moore recorded only ten sacks in five years, and he was signed by the Cowboys just to add depth to the bench. His best performance was when he had 5.5 sacks with the New York Giants in 2014.

Another potential replacement for Irving is Benson Mayowa who has been with Dallas for a year, and he recorded six sacks. He may be the most efficient player on this list, and he might be the first one to get the trust of the coaching staff. This guy is more consistent than Moore, and his production is expected to go up.

Last but not least is Charles Tapper who was injured last year, but he is ready now. He may be the strongest, and the quickest pass rusher out of the four, and he will definitely be an explosive addition to the defensive squad. Even though four games doesn’t seem like a lot, every match is important in the NFL season, and that is why the Cowboys need to play their cards right.
