Looking back at the past is not always a good thing, but this time and in this situation it definitely is. We are talking about Chevrolet and its discontinued model Chevelle. Chevy decided to bring this model back to life through this Chevrolet Chevelle Slammer Concept. This car makes the perfect combination of an older hot-rod type of design and modern-day performance.

In addition to above-mentioned, there is a lot of great stuff about this vehicle. Most importantly, its powerplant. Under the hood, you will find LT376/535 crate engine. This unit is manufactured by Chevrolet Performance department and is one of the most advanced engines in terms of technology that ever exited their facilities. The base of this powerplant can be traced back to LT1 engines that can be found on Chevrolet Camaro SS and Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The difference lies in addition of camshaft-and-heads package that enables it to produce 535 hp which is 75 horsepowers more than LT1 on Stingray and Camaro SS has.

Newest addition from Chevrolet Performance department the LT376/535 on Chevrolet Chevelle Slammer Concept is mated to the SuperMatic 4L75-E transmission that supports Connect&Cruise package which has controllers and harnesses as standard equipment.

Engine sounds fantastic, but that is not all there is. Chevrolet Chevelle from 1969 has had its chassis tempered with in order to easily accept 18-inch front and 20-inche rear wheels. This car was revised from top to bottom but with utmost precision and manufactured to perfection so that original lines that are characteristic for Chevelle don’t get noticeably disturbed.

Customization of this car didn’t stop there. The car features Adrenaline red interior and seats that are identical to those that can be found on 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. Similar to Camaro Slammer Concept, the Chevy Chevelle Slammer concept will ride on air suspension.

For all those car tuning enthusiasts out there, we saved some good news for the end. Chevrolet Performance LT376/535 crate engine will be available for purchase trough 2017 Chevrolet Performance Parts catalog. Don’t know about you but we expect to see this powerplant in many more cars and not just in Slammer Chevelle.
