It’s been more than ten years since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt started dating, and almost two years since they decided to get married. It wasn’t a short ride but one that eventually came to an end.
According to various sources, Angelina has filed for divorce, stating that the couple was separated since September the 15th.
According to tmz.com, who was the first to publish the news of Pitt-Jolie divorce, there are various reasons for their divorce. They go from the ones less likely to be true, to the possible causes.
Some of the less likely are that Pitt was using illegal substances (we are not allowed to name them) and that he was cheating on Jolie with the co-star from his latest movie (Allied) Marion Cotillard.
While all of these look like a long shot and yellow pages trying to make headlines, they are divorcing!
Official reasons for filing for divorce is, as Jolie’s attorney Robert Offer stated, the conservation of the family’s health. It seems that Angelina didn’t approve of the way Pitt was influencing the upbringing of their children.
That was certainly not an easy task because the couple has six children, three adopted and three biological. Maddox Chivan, Zahara Marley, and Pax Thien are adopted children of Pitt-Jolie while Shiloh Nouvel, Knox Leon, and Vivienne Marcheline are biological.
One of the biggest aspects which are being the discussed through their divorce is the distribution of their wealth. With both of them being extremely wealthy before entering the marriage, they have signed the prenuptial agreement. According to an agreement, they are going to keep their pre-wedding assets while those which they acquired during the marriage will be put into a trust fund for their children. Their fortune is estimated at around $400 million, where Pitt weight is $260 million, and Jolie is $140 million.
Jolie stated that she is not asking for spousal support but only asks for shared legal, and complete physical custody of the children.
There will certainly be more news in coming days, so stay with us for more update.
