We need to say something before we even get into this topic. This is not about what Golden State Warriors should do or want to do. We are going to talk about the Boston Celtics and whether or not they should push for Klay Thomspon. In other words, do they make a deal for him?
Well, if Warriors want to settle for just a couple of picks and expiring deal, then of course. But, the fact of the matter is that nobody with common sense would accept that trade. Take all these rumors with a grain of salt, but there are some reports that Celtics would offer Crowder, Amir Johnson and at least one Nets pick and maybe even Bostons’ own for Warriors’ sharpshooter.
That is a pretty big blockbuster right there. Should the Celtics pull the trigger?
Nets are playing a bit better than it was initially expected, so their pick most likely won’t be in the Top 3 during the Draft Lottery. That doesn’t mean that it can’t be a Top 3 pick at the end, but it has much less value. Crowder is a key piece for this team. He is the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics and represents what they want to do and who they are.
Trading Bradley would probably be better than Crowder. If the trade is for him, Celtics should do it, they play at the same position, and Crowder can continue doing his thing at the 3 while playing on one of the best contracts in the NBA. If it’s for Bradley, do it, if Crowder is the one going to the Warriors, stick with what you have.
