BMW M1 Shark Concept Will Change Your Perception Of Cars

When you look at the photos below, you would believe that this concept is outside this world and that this vehicle has been made for some kind of a sci-fi movie. The car you see is the BMW M1 Shark Concept, and it comes from the rendering master Alex Imnadze.

If you don’t know who this artist is and you love cars, you should be ashamed because he created the design for the Porsche GT Vision 906/917 concept. The production version of the BMW M1 is supposed to be introduced in 2018 and it will definitely not going to look as futuristic as Imnadze’s concept.

The shape of the shark just looks stunning, but this kind of design is not practical in the real world. The ride height is way too low, which may be suitable for the race track, but it is clearly not smart to be used on public roads. The vehicle features wide body kit, that would give you headaches if you tried to park this car in pretty much any public parking space.

According to Alex, who sometimes worked for Bertone Design, this M1 Shark Concept is designed to pay respect to Bertone. The designer of the M1 Shark was inspired by several other prototypes such as the Bertone Stratos Zero, which, Alex says, is the most iconic car that was designed by Bertone, and BMW Gina, which serves as an inspiration to many other vehicles as well.

BMW Vision Next 100 with its twin front grille and flexible hybrid skin also influenced the BMW M1 Shark Concept. The car from the rendering would come with an AWD system and two engines – one that would send power to the front wheels and other to the rear. The complete power output of this system is 1,300 horses, but we are definitely not going to see cars with a design and setup like this in the near future.
