Blue Exorcist – Season 3 Release Date, Ao No Exorcist: Illuminati Saga [Spoilers]

Source: aonoexorcist.wikia.com

The release date of the Blue Exorcist will soon be announced, and the new episodes are supposed to get this series back on track, following the manga source material. However, there is no Episode 13 of Ao no Exorcist Season 2, but Blue Exorcist manga will be used as a guide for future episodes.

Six years is a long period for any anime series to be renewed, but Ao no Exorcist Season 2 really left the fans perplexed because the characters’ development went the unexpected way. Brothers Yukio and Rin Okumura are struggling with overcoming emotional barriers and Yukio went Satan mode at the end of the first season, and he is surprised that he began to assume a demon form. Rin, on the other hand, cannot hold his sword although he had displayed his power against Satan before.

What is also confusing is that Rin’s ExWire friends from True Cross Academy have become afraid after they found out that he is the son of Satan and responsible for the Blue Night and the death of many people. These characters overcame their fears in Season 1 finale, right?

What if the epic ending of Blue Exorcist Season 1 never happened? During the production of the first season, the author Kazue Kato had produced only nine Ao no Exorcist manga volumes, and as of December 31, 2016, she has written and published 18 volumes. This means that Episodes 18 through 25 of the first season were intended to fill in the story gap as they were a special story arc.

The Ao no Exorcist Season 2 picked up where the manga and the anime parted ways, and everything becomes much clearer. The anime followed the manga’s Impure King story, and we can assume that Ao no Exorcist Season 3 will follow suit.

Blue Exorcist Season 3 Spoilers – Illuminati Saga

If you still haven’t seen Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, you better start watching it from the beginning of the Season one to Episode 17 because the second season doesn’t explain prior events and it will be hard for you fully to understand the plot and the characters’ behavior.

The Season 3 will follow the mysterious group called the Illuminati who are connected to Demons. The strongest Demon is Lucifer, also known as the King of Light and the ultimate goal of this jolly group is to revive Satan, but in the meantime, they are experimenting on human zombies and producing an elixir for bringing demons back to life around the world. However, for a perfect potion, the powers of a certain ExWire have to be coerced.

Rin’s brother Yukio managed to beat the demonic Illuminati agent at the end of Ao no Exorcist Season 2, whereas the traitorous Saburota Todou, who is their member, fled while in an ashed form thanks to his regenerative abilities. Yukio has perhaps inherited powers from his father, Satan, but he didn’t say anything to the ExWires or Rin.

The story of the Season 3 begins when they find an artificial Gehenna Gate, a portal between Assiah, the material world, and Gehenna, the world of demons. This gate is believed to be created by the demons, but it has yet to be fully opened, which will happen eventually despite the effort of the Exorcists. According to the demons, Assiah and Gehenna were a single realm from which both darkness and light come. Illuminati members also want to merge the two worlds into one single hole, and they have conducted numerous experiments which were fatal for those involved.

It is possible that Mephisto Pheles is at the Illuminati Saga center because of the way he treats the others. It is revealed that the true identity of this Exorcist is the Demon King of Time, Samael, who is the second strongest demon of Gehenna’s Eight Demon Kings. Mephisto invites Rin to his home to transport Satan’s son to Gehenna for a battle test after which Rin gets a task to solve True Cross Academy’s Seven Mysteries which leads to all source of mysteries. We cannot wait to see the guys and girls of the ExWires on the upcoming student festival which includes a dance party that requires a date.

The barriers that keep True Cross Academy safe are destroyed by Seraphim while Lucifer, who crashes the party, declares the war against the True Cross Order. This distraction is used by Illuminati so that they can infiltrate the academy and come one step closer to their true goal. In addition, the fans will find out who the traitor within the ExWires is, and it is important to mention that this person becomes an Illuminati spy before joining the True Cross Academy.

The Blue Exorcist: Illuminati Saga will end with Rin and his friends attacking an Illuminati base in the Inari apartments in Kyoto, Japan. Everyone separates, and Rin tries to rescue the kidnapped friend while he tries to fight against demons simultaneously. Yukio and Lucifer meet in person, while Shura Kirigakure a.k.a. Boobzilla is not so fortunate, as you will see. We leave you to watch the ending of the Season 3.
