BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s BBM has continued to set the pace of winning awards, with the latest one being the Indonesian Golden Ring Award, which gives it a position of the Best Mobile Social Media.

The award positioned BBM above other common social media platforms the likes of Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), and LINE. Apparently the award also comes way close after the MMA award which categorized BBM as the best Publisher/Media Company of the year.

BBM has had a great history over the years in Indonesia possibly as a result of positive embrace by the Indonesians. Besides, the market has been growing steadily, and the population is quickly taking on the mobile market with ease. From the recent ranking by Jana, the Company that manages mobile app advertising, BBM has been categorized as the most prevalent of messaging app in the country and according to real-time information from users.

The InMobi report has revealed that 97% of mobile users in Indonesia can access messaging apps several times a day in comparison with the 37% that prefer direct communication through various apps the likes of SMS’s. By the way, it also has the uppermost quantity of daily active users which perhaps has resulted from network effects. Probably the numbers are higher than any other app because of the BBM’s functionality and reliability; features that every phone users gives preference.

The BBM use has also exploded in the E-commerce because Indonesians can now pay for goods and services online using the BBM Money application. Mobile and online shopping have been necessitated by the increasing congestion of the roads hence the increasing use of BBM Pay.

Additionally, the Indonesian market is also becoming exceedingly exciting because of the availability of the active advertising platform. The established has continued to attract traders to the BBM ecosystem who are enthusiastic of connecting with Indonesian online shoppers.

From all this it is clear that the Indonesian technology has continued to evolve over time and, of course, BBM has gained credit as one of the best social media players within the ecommerce platforms.
