BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Z3 is expected to be a comeback device for BlackBerry, which would help it gain some of the lost smartphone market share. The company announced this phone in February this year for the first time, and was released in the selective markets in the spring season of the year. Indonesia was chosen as the first market for this device and later on it was released in other nations including India, Malaysia, Philippines and few African markets with impressive sales. The company, now, has plans to release it in the Singapore market, as well.
Impressive response from other markets
The (Infocomm Development Authority)-IDA’s website has the profile of this device available on it indicating that all regulatory certifications have already been passed. While no official announcement with regards to this device has been made by the company, but it is expected to launch soon in the Singapore market.

The device boasts of few lucrative features such as a massive 5-inch qHD display and is powered with the first generation Snapdragon 400 chipset with a dual-core Krait CPU. The device has a good storage capacity of 8GB, which is expandable, and a 5MP rear camera.
Passport coming soon
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) recently announced yet another device for the launch this year, probably in September. The square shaped device has been named as ‘Passport’ by the company, which sports a QWERTY keyboard and the progress is as per the plans. The device has gained both the FCC and the GCF certifications. All this indicate that in September the device will be released.
The ‘Passport’ device would be powered with the BlackBerry 10.3 OS and will have a screen size of 4.5 inch. The device would have a resolution of 1440×1440 pixels which translate to 453 ppi pixel density.
Last week, the Canadian firm announced the commencement of pre-registrations of the smartphone on its official blog post and said, “Starting today [Thursday], you can pre-register to receive emails about Passport availability and other upcoming BlackBerry products and services.”
