The device has done well and has helped the company boost its image. The device did not take long to sell out completely after its release last month and demand has been increasing continuously since then.

The press is getting attracted to BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB)’s Passport for numerous reasons of which the superior build quality of the device is one. Recently, the device passed a test which is too tough for any ordinary device.

Passport undergoes serious tests

The drop test was conducted from a 20-feet height, which a conventional mobile owner is not supposed to encounter in normal routine. BlackBerry Passport device has already passed a conventional drop test successfully in the past, and the test results indicated that the device is well built and is really tough and hence can go through a lot of physical stress than it will have to go through in normal course of usage.

The new test puts the Passport through the pain of several durability, and the device comes out as a survivor. The new video released shows that the device is being thrown across a baseball field, falling from a height of 20 feet twice, driven over by a car and beaten up with a hammer and surprisingly it passes through all of it, says a report from Ubergizmo.

A feather in cap for Blackberry

The device suffers a minor injury and the screen develops a crack, but it does not at all affect its efficiency of work. This way a feather gets added to BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB)’s hat of manufacturing a device that is sturdy enough to stand through all the tough tests it is being put to. Also, the device does not suffer from the bend gate issue faced by its counterpart Apple iPhone 6.

The unique square shape of the device also brings it to limelight. The device has a 4.5-inch screen along with a full QWERTY keypad that doubles as a track pad. The first release had only 200,000 units of the device released by BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB), and it took just on an hour for the device to get sold out completely once pre-order window was opened.
