BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Passport has attracted a lot of media attention because of its peculiar square shape and unique design. While the design is loved by many it is also criticized by many, who do not find it that mesmerizing. The company released its flagship smartphone one week back and the device has performed quite well. More than 200,000 units have already been sold till now. The device is available for now only in ‘Black’ color, but soon we might see the ‘White’ colored version of the device.
BlackBerry Passport goes White?
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Passport device is very much in demand in White color, but till now it is not available in this color in any of the stores or for any carrier. Even the ShopBlackBerry does not have any units of this device. It is rumored that soon the company will make available the White Passport as well. While no confirmation has been received from BlackBerry as yet, but a report from N4BB has informed that in November the company might release the White Passport for sale. According to N4BB, a site in UAE lists the Passport in white, but since the site is not an official distributor the news can’t be confirmed.
It is possible that this timeline for the release of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Passport in White could be postponed further. If the demand for the device goes up further then there is a possibility that the company might feel obliged to meet the requirement.
Unique features for Passport
The Passport has been crafted by the BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) with precision and it has some new design and features not seen before in any of the devices. The screen is 4.5 -inch in size with a resolution of 1440×1440 pixels. The QWERTY keyboard is touch enabled and is laid out in three rows. The device is powered with a core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The device comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB and has an expandable memory with the help of microSD card slot. It comes with a 3GB RAM. For making video calls this device comes with a 2 megapixel 720p front facing camera. The rear camera is 13 mega pixels. The operating system on which the device runs is the latest BlackBerry OS – BlackBerry OS 10.3.
