BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Updates BBM With Support For iOS 9, Apple Watch

BlackBerry BBM

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) recently updated its BBM iOS app with support for the iOS 9 – which is the new mobile operating system of Apple – and for Apple Watch. Now, it will be easy for the users to reach out to BBM contacts, receive messages and respond quickly, from their wrists.

 BlackBerry brings more to iOS

Similar to other Apple Watch chat apps, BBM users can also use canned responses when they do not have sufficient time to create something more official. BlackBerry BBM users can also reply right from the notification with the help of quick reply included in the new iOS 9 support.

PayPal integration is another major change included in BBM version 291.0.0.84 that can be used for paying contacts via an attachment. BBM Voice improvements, view/like/comment support for group pictures in BBM feeds, performance enhancements and support for sending videos in chats are the other changes introduced in the latest version.

BBM Meetings updated

Separately, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has brought fresh updates for frequent users of BBM Meetings on BlackBerry 10 smartphones, Windows and Mac. To take advantage of the changes users will have to update all the components, since the updates are related.

With the update, users now get New Out Of Box Experience (OOBE) on BlackBerry 10, Android, iOS; Streamlined Join Meeting UX for Mac & Windows; New Meeting ID for each Instant Meeting, Chime Configuration; Cloud Meeting Recording and New User Privacy and Security settings; compatibility for Microsoft ® Lync plugin. Interested users can download the BlackBerry 10 app from BlackBerry World. The Android and iOS apps are not showing updates for now, says CrackBerry.

In separate news, BlackBerry announced that Hong Kong’s 1O1O is now offering its enterprise customers BES12 Cloud that provides the customers with easy management of iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10 smartphones and tablets.
