Tony Romo shocked everybody yesterday as he announced that he is going to be leaving the game of football and retire as he wants to pursue opportunities as a broadcaster that had been presented to him in the last couple of months. This retirement will have an effect on a few more players. Here are the biggest winners and guys that benefit the most from what happened yesterday.

1) Dak Prescott – This is a no-brainer. Dak Prescott finally doesn’t have to worry about his spot, the media asking him questions about Romo and fearing that every mistake that he makes can put him on the bench. Prescott is now a clear-cut franchise quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. They are going to do everything that they can in order to put him in a position to succeed.

2) Tom Savage – Well, the Texans quarterback is in a great position to start next year in Houston. Osweiler is gone, Romo is not an option anymore as he has retired and Texans might have to go with Savage as their starter. He went from being a backup in Houston to probably being the biggest candidate to start in 2017 for this team.

3) Trevor Siemian – The quarterback of the Denver Broncos has to be feeling good at this moment. He has had a decent year as a starter in 2016. It seems that this guy is on the right track as he has come a long way from the beginning of that season. Siemian needs to stay the starter in order to improve as there is still a potential that he has. Now, with Romo out of the picture, he is the go-to guy for Denver.
