Good news for Dwayne Johnson’s fans – the premiere of his action-comedy movie ‘Baywatch’ has been moved a week earlier to May 26 by Paramount Pictures, which is the beginning of the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

However, this means a direct confrontation with Sony’s sci-fier ‘Life’, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson, as well as Disney’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales,’ which is the fifth installment of the Johnny Depp franchise. Tough competition, one would say.

All of us used to watch the famous 1990s television series ‘Baywatch,’ we loved it actually, and we’ll have an opportunity to see its movie reboot with great actors starring in it. Namely, we’ll be watching Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra. What’s more, Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff will appear in the film, as well, which is a great surprise for their big fans who loved to watch them in the well-known series.

There are several high-profile names behind this movie, Seth Gordon directing it and a whole bunch of people producing it. Namely, Johnson is one of them, and he’ll produce it along with his partner Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions company. Greg Bonann, Ivan Reitman, Douglas Schwartz, Michale Berk and Beau Flynn are also producers of the movie.

The latest draft of the script was written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon. Nonetheless, details of the plot have been kept secret, so we can assume it will be as interesting as the original or even better. We are definitely looking forward to it.

The May 19 is as busy as a date could be when it comes to all the movies supposed to be released then. Namely, Fox has several titles being delivered on that day: ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien: Covenant’ as well as Open Road’s ‘Nut Job 2’ and New Line’s ‘Annabelle 2’.
