Battle Between Google Inc (GOOG) and Apple Inc. (AAPL) Starts

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) might have dealt Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) its biggest blow after it emerged its wearable device will not be iOS or Mac compatible, this year. Google is in the process of putting final touches to its Android 5.0 Lollipop OS that is to power the new device.

Google Talking to Other Platforms

Some of the devices that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) plans to immerse its new operating system include HTC Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 , which is slightly bigger than iPhone-6. Nexus 6 will also feature a thicker/heavier profile compared to its predecessors. HTC Nexus 9 comes with a 9-inch display and stereo speakers. The new devices are expected to compete hand in hand against Apple devices that are ramping up sales heading into the holiday festivities.

Googles Android Wear is one of the devices that will not be compatible with iOS with the giant search engine company reportedly evaluating other platforms. Google has reportedly made that decisions as it believes by partnering with other platforms, its wearables could get into the hands of many. It awaits to be seen if Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) will make the change considering it made a provision that allowed Google Glass to work on iOS Device.

Apple’s iWatch

The announcement by Google comes as a surprise, in the wake of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) unveiling its health and fitness band. Microsoft has not fitted any restrictions in terms of platforms for its wearable as it seeks to enjoy mass-audience especially in terms of sales. Microsoft’s band will be compatible with iOS Android as well as Windows phones.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) users are known to be more than happy with Apple’s ecosystem raising the question as to whether Google will be successful in tempting them to make the switch. Apple is set to unveil its iWatch sometimes next year awaiting to see if it will be compatible with Android devices.
