It’s a great thing to see when one player comes into the league at a young age, with raw basketball skills and desire to prove himself to the rest of the league. But, when he puts in the work and improves leaps and bounds since he was a rookie, all you can do is admire that.
One player that has improved his game so much that he doesn’t even resemble the player that he was earlier is Avery Bradley. Celtics’ guard has always been known as a terrific defensive stopper. He has cat quick hands and moves his feet on the defensive side of the ball.
But he wasn’t satisfied with that. He went from being a complete non-shooter to a knock-down shooter from both three-point line and mid range. Coming off the screen with or without the ball is now his strong suit, but when he got into the league, he couldn’t shoot a lick.
Now, Celtics are looking like one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Whether or not they’ll reach their goals, this season depends on the play of their starters. Avery Bradley is a key puzzle on this squad. His good performances will elevate this team over other contenders in the East.
Bradley had a great season last year, but he is showing us that he is capable of being even better. He carried his team in Charlotte last night with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Looking at both stats and game, we can easily single him out as extremely active and easily the best player on the floor.
“That’s my mindset this year,” Bradley said about improving his game. “Trying to expand my game, rebound the ball, pass the ball, make plays for others and go to the basket. I’m just trying to improve my game. I work on it every single summer and now I need to put it in the game.”
So far, he is doing an excellent job. It looks like he can continue to play at a high level and that might earn him Most Improved Player award. And if Celtics are playing winning basketball, he just might make his first All-Star appearance. Who knows what might happen, but one thing is for sure. Bradley is a big part of what Boston Celtics want to do and what are they aiming to achieve in the future.
