Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 6 is reportedly just days away from its release and we are hearing rumors of its pricing being way too much than expected. A report from SMH expects the ‘bigger’ iPhone model to come with a big price tag of $1000. If this turns out to be true then the iPhone 6 will become the most expensive smartphone in the market. The company has worked on not just the screen size, but also on its hardware and software.

More expensive than previous models

The devices are expected to be launched in two sizes – 4.7-inch and 5.5 inch, and are said to be available at stores beginning September 19, according to various reports. It is also rumored that the new devices will come with maximum internal storage capacity of 128GB, which is higher than the previous models.

Anshul Gupta, a mobile analyst at Garner says that Apple Inc.’s new ‘phablet’ devices boast of improved and superior specs, which would lead to higher prices charged by the company. Gupta says that the difference in the iPhone 6’s price and current iPhone 5S price could be as much as $100. Apple has priced the 5S model of its iPhone at $869 on its online store and Anshul believes that the iPhone 6 would be priced at $969.

Mr. Gupta, also, warns that he is simply making a speculation on pricing. At the same time he emphasized that the probability of prices falling was very less.

Australians prefer premium product

Australian consumers and many others are becoming fond of buying those smartphones that boast of maximum possible features, superior specs and other specifications that make it a lucrative buy, as informed by Foad Fadaghi, managing director and principal analyst at Telsyte.

“I think what you’re seeing is that as individuals we’re becoming substantially more dependent on our smartphones to manage our lives and do almost everything, from e-commerce to looking up bus schedules – whatever it might be,” Mr Fadaghi said.

Devices now serve a host of important purposes other than making calls or sending messages. This has led to higher dependency of people on these devices. Therefore they want only the best for themselves and are on a lookout for premium products. The demand for these premium products is highest among the Australian customers, who are willing to pay as much as needed for acquiring those, says Mr Fadaghi.
