Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is looking forward to develop an alternative power charging methods for its smartwatch, which has been garnering much of the lime light since the past one year.  The company is testing its alternative charging methods to enhance the battery life of the wearable devices, says a report from the New York Times.

Apple testing alternative methods

According to the New York Times, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is in the process of testing the wireless charging method with magnetic induction, which will be different from the technology already being used by Nokia smartphones that can be charged through a charging plate that creates a magnetic field using an electrical current.

On the other hand, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) might also use a solar charging layer to the curved glass screen, which will be sported in the iWatch most probably. Through solar energy, the battery could be charged during the day. According to the New York Times, Apple patented a flexible battery that could “easily couple with a flexible solar panel layer.”

Yet another possible way of charging might be through a movement, which means that means that the battery could be charged once the user swings his or her hand. Swinging hand will start a tiny charging station that powers the device as mentioned, in 2009 patent.

Working hard to overcome bumps

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iWatch has been a garnering lot of attention in the recent times, and the company has supposedly filed for the trademark in several countries like Japan, Mexico and Taiwan. Apple has been in slight troubles over making the iWatch including challenges with the screen technology, battery problems, and possible manufacturing bumps.

The Times reported that Apple has hired battery engineers from companies like Tesla and Toyota, in the recent years. Also, it has filed various patents related to the technology such as flexible batteries and tiny components that are capable of producing powers from external motion.

A former executive of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said that the company has spent many years in making a smarter battery by adding solar charging in its iPhones and iPods. However, it could not materialize those methods because the mobile phones are kept inside the pocket, when people go outside their house or office, and indoor the artificial light emits very slight energy.
