Amazon.com (AMZN), Motorola Mobility Now Selling Moto G

In time for the Black Friday sales, Motorola Mobility, the subsidiary company of Google Inc (NAADAQ:GOOG) is now selling its new Moto G smartphone on its website earlier than expected. The device is also available at Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN).

The price of the 8GB Moto G is $179 and the 16GB model is $199. Motorola Mobility will start shipping the device on December 2. Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) will start sending the device to its customers on December 4.

The Moto G is equipped 4.5-inch HD display powered by Android 4.3 jellybean and Qualcomm Inc’s (NASDAQ:QCOMM) Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2 GHz quad core CPU. The device offers an all-day battery life and it has a front and rear camera, video capture playback as well as audio playback. The Moto G is integrated with a Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth technology, and location services.

Users will love the  stylish  and  comfortable curved design of the Moto G with 19 customization options including interchangeable backs, Motorola Shells, Flip Shells in seven colors and Grip Shell in five colors.

The original plan of Motorola Mobility is to launch the Moto G in the United States in January, but surprisingly made it available this week. Its CEO, Dennis Woodside told CNET that the company was able to accelerate the manufacturing process of the device than expected. He added that early demand for the smartphone is strong in other countries worldwide.

Another new device available at Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) this Black Friday is the Pebble smartwatch for $148.99. The cost of the device is only $1 cheaper than its regular retail price, but the e-commerce giant is offering a $20 gift card for consumers who will purchase the smartwatch. The Pebble smartwatch has one-week battery life and it has the ability to perform different tasks such allowing users to check calls, e-mail, and text notifications, control music, and track running among others.

Earlier this week, Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:QCOM) announced that it is taking pre-orders for its Toq smartwatch. The price of the device is $349. According to the company, Toq is compatible with any smartphone powered by Android Jellybean or higher version of the operating system.

Last September, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd (LON:BC94) (KRX:005935) launched its own smartwatch called the Samsung Galaxy Gear. The device costs $299. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG),) are expected to launch their own smartwatches in the future.
