There is always a chance that Jinder Mahal could be losing the title before the Summerslam, but the fact of the matter is that company has gone with him as the champion so he can be the one holding the belt when their tour in India starts in September. They want to expand the market there, and Jinder seems like a good choice for the champion that will surely attract more fans to the brand.

That means that the Summerslam will happen before that tour that WWE is going to have in India. AJ Styles is everyone’s pick to be in the title hunt as soon as possible as he is the top face now on the blue brand. It seems that he is going to be the one to challenge the Maharaja at the Summerslam pay per view.

Mahal will be defending the championship first against Orton at Money in the Bank. If he does indeed win the battle against The Viper again, we can expect that the programming with someone like AJ Styles is going to begin pretty soon. There are no other faces that he can actually go against beside John Cena, but the company might want to save him for Nakamura.
