Bandai Namco Entertainment used this year’s Taipei Game Show to promote the first direct-feed gameplay of “Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Twilight Millennium” (PS4 version). For those of you who may not be familiar with the two games which are here merged in one, we provide you with a brief overview.
Both “Accel World” and “Sword Art Online” are Japanese light novels which eventually inspired numerous manga and anime adaptations, as well as video games and various spin-offs. They are both written by Reki Kawahara and published by ASCII Media Works in 2009. It should also be noted that they have recently inspired two movies as well. “Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale” is the upcoming animated film which is set to be released on February 18, 2017, while “Accel World: Infinite Burst” premiered in July last year.
Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Twilight Millennium: Gameplay Footage
As we already mentioned, during this year’s Taipei Game Show held in Taiwan, Bandai Namco decided to bring the PS4 version of “Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Twilight Millennium”, together with the gameplay footage.
Yosuke Futami, the producer of Sword Art Online, presented a combination of live gameplay and recorded footages. These featured various characters in action, some of them fighting, some jumping high, using the acceleration option, or some of their special powers. These were primarily Accel World’s characters, while Sword Art Online characters could be seen fighting and using magic, as well as melee weapons.
Cyan Pile, Blood Leopard, Black Lotus, Scarlet Rain and Sky Raker are some of Accel World’s names that appeared in the gameplay footage. As for Sword Art Online, you could see Asuna, Sinon and Kirito.
According to Siliconera, the game has been scheduled to see the light of day in a month, on March 16 this year, when it will be available for PS4 and PS Vita.
