5Dez Bryant is no longer elite

This has become a daily talk in the league. Everyone seems to get it except for the Cowboys. This season he has had 815 yards to his name which ranks him 24th in the league. Last year he was 51st with 796. His catch per targeting percentage was barely above the 50% in both seasons. The thing that makes his stats look even worse is his salary. He cashed in $17 million this season, and he has another $16.5 million against the cap next year. The only two receivers that will earn more are Antonio Brown and Larry Fitzgerald.

Steelers linchpin has 718 more yards while Cardinals future Hall of Famer has 286 more on 68% catch percentage and all of that at the fragile age of 34. So, Dez is getting paid as if he is a weekly game changer, which he is not, for a long time now. In an interview after the last game of the season, he stated that a pay cut is not an option for him. Cowboys would be better off releasing him on June 1st which would save them $12.5 million of the salary cap.
