WWE doesn’t have the offseason like pretty much every other sport does and their programming goes throughout the year, and every single Monday and Tuesday night there is a WWE show, Monday Night Raw, and Smackdown Live. Still, their best matches are reserved for Sunday’s as it’s a pay per view day and the most important things happen there. Here are WWE’s most exciting events in a calendar year.
Royal Rumble – 30 men enter and only one will go to the main event of WWE’s biggest show of the year – Wrestlemania. Two guys start the match, and after 90 seconds another man will enter. The key is to throw your opponent over the top rope and remain the last man standing. Probably the most exciting match of the year.
Main Event Of The Wrestlemania – Even though the last main event was pretty lackluster, the goal of the company is to build the most intrigue for their most important match that happens at the end of the Wrestlemania, company’s biggest show of the year.
Elimination Chamber – Six men are entering this structure with only one coming out as a winner. It can be constructed for the number one contender, or, like this year’s Chamber, for the actual championship. The key here is to eliminate each of your opponents by pinfall or submission in order to win the Chamber.
Money In The Bank – Six men are usually entering the Money In The Bank match, but only one can climb that ladder, pick up that briefcase and earn themselves a title shot. But, it’s not just a usual title shot. They can get it at any time, even during their or after someone’s match. There are no rules when it comes to when a superstar can challenge the champion.
Extreme Rules – This one is not as exciting as the other events on this list, but when it’s booked right, it can be a brutal match, like the one that Roman Reigns and AJ Styles had last year. Fighting in the crowd, with chairs, going through tables and into the barricades, it’s all legal in this one.
