At the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Ford announced that the legendary Bronco is coming back in 2024, but they didn’t say anything about the look of the new vehicle. We have already seen numerous speculations about the design of the new 2020 Ford Bronco, and according to a report from The Truth About Cars, the new version will feature a removable roof.

As the “two well-placed sources” that are knowledgeable about the 2020 Bronco state, modular roof panels that will be removable will find its place in Ford’s iconic vehicle, writes Mark Stevenson for The Truth About Cars. Moreover, this feature will be called “Air Roof” and it will resemble the one seen on the Jeep Renegade.

It appears that the same kind of removable-roof design will also be sported on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. It was reported that a permanent roof perimeter structure with pop-out panels would come instead of the Wrangler’s current roof design. With the new roof, the passengers will get to enjoy open-air driving in the long-anticipated Wrangler.

Also, many believe that the new Bronco will be a bitter rival to the next-generation Wrangler, once it comes out on the market. However, we still don’t know whether the Blue Oval representative will be launched as a two- or four -door SUV. Some reports indicate that a four-door version will be the only one available, but this has yet to be confirmed. The only logical move would be to offer it as a four-door vehicle since it would have much better chances for success. We just hope the 2020 Ford Bronco will be close to the original version.
