Ford chief designer Moray Callum has a difficult task to design the 2020 Ford Bronco. Some fans believe that this task can be too difficult because of the pressure and history of the Bronco, but the brother of the famous Jaguar design boss is currently in the research stage.

According to Automotive News, Moray Callum is driving a 1976 Ford Bronco in order to get to know the vehicle as much as possible and find inspiration. He, besides being a designer, loves vintage cars and the favorite car of his wife is no other than the Bronco.

It appears that Callum is fascinated with Bronco’s simplicity and how high the passengers sit inside the cabin. He told Automotive News that Bronco is very inspirational, but we don’t know his plans for the future model. So far, we know that the 2020 Ford Bronco will arrive one year after the Ford Ranger and that it will be a body-on-frame vehicle. This off-road capable SUV will be based on the Ranger platform, and it will be manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant. Once it comes out, we expect a tough rivalry between Ford’s new car and the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

According to Callum, a three-on-the-tree manual transmission from the 1976 Bronco will definitely not make a comeback on the new model. An interesting thing happened to him when he arrived at the restaurant, as the guy who was supposed to park his old Bronco didn’t know how to manually shift. Nevertheless, we hope that Moray Callum will be inspired and design one impressive 2020 Ford Bronco.
