2019 Jaguar E-Pace caught by spy shots and video testing!

If you recall, when it first hit the market the Jaguar F-Pace skyrocketed in terms of sales, and with a total of 45.973 units of this SUV sold in 2016, it became the carrier of almost 30% of brand’s sales. Thanks to that fact, the news about Jag being in advanced stage of development on its second SUV should not come as a big surprise. That next model for that segment is named E-Pace, and it will find its place just below the F-Pace.

Thanks to the spy shots and the video we have here you can see much of the design. The proportions of the two SUV’s are very similar, but the Jaguar E-Pace is somewhat sportier looking than the F-Pace. It will be adorned with a rectangular grille up front, slit-like lights at both ends, and a five-door body.

With this one British carmaker is hitting hard on the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA. The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace is carried by the latest version of Jaguar Land Rover’s LR-MS platform, which made its debut in the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport. The same platform is reserved for a redesigned Range Rover Evoque and maybe a model or two from the parent company Tata.

Powertrain talk is still way too early to start, but we expect that it will predominantly host Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium inline four engines. Anything bigger than that is hardly imaginable, while the new inline three unit Jaguar Land Rover is developing and the hybrid option down the production cycle are highly likely.

2019 Jaguar E-Pace Release Date

The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace is set to debut sometime late this year, while it will arrive on the market in 2018 as a 2019 model year. The main reason for this is the fact that this is not Jag’s only SUV that will come in this and next year. They are also working on the I-Pace electric SUV which debuted at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show in a concept form with the same name.
