2019 Ford Focus Wagon Is Being Tested

Ford is currently developing a redesigned version of the Focus, and the prototype has been seen undergoing some tests. The prototype that was spotted is the model with wagon body style, and this variant is not going to be offered in the United States.

The US market will see the Focus sedan and hatchback, just like it is the case with the ongoing generation. However, the new models will arrive from China, and they will no longer be assembled in the US.

If by any chance the Focus Wagon appeared in the States, it would compete against the Volkswagen Golf SportWagen and the Subaru Outback’s lower trims. Outside of North America, this vehicle is going to face numerous rivals such as the Hyundai i30 Touring, Opel Astra Sports Tourer, and even the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake.

Based on the earlier test mules, we can conclude that the redesigned car is going to be longer and wider compared to the current-generation. This is going to result in more space in the cabin for both cargo and the passengers.

At this point, we cannot tell what Blue Oval plans to offer in the engine bay. The only thing we are certain about is that all of the Focus’ units will be turbocharged, whereas the performance fans must be looking forward to the ST Wagon and ST Diesel Wagon models. It is speculated that the engine which will power the ST Wagon is going to be the one used on the regular Focus ST – a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4.
