2019 Audi A6 – First Spy Photos

Most models from Audi are similar to each other and the time has come for that to change. Marc Lichte, the company’s design boss, promised a greater distinction among some future vehicles and as it appears he will fulfill that promise. Later this year, the next-generation A8 will be introduced, and it will feature some distinctive design cues, while after the A8, we are going to see new A7 Sportback. Following these two cars is the brand-new 2019 Audi A6 that has been caught on camera for the first time.

All three models are under heavy covers, but despite that, we can see that they don’t look similar to each other, at least not as much as previous versions. We can distinguish between the A6, A7, and A8 by looking at their headlights and in the case of the A6, there is the upper character line below the window line which further separates this one from the rest of the lineup. Compared to its predecessor that has the side mirrors next to the A-pillars, the new model will have them on the doors.

Exterior and Interior of 2019 Audi A6

Unfortunately, we cannot see the rear end on these spy photos, but it appears that it will have a smaller overhang and it will be slightly shorter than the one on the currently offered car. The brand-new 2019 Audi A6 front overhang will also be shorter and because of these minor, but important modifications, the new model will have a sportier look.

When it comes to the interior of the 2019 Audi A6, we expect to see company’s second-generation Virtual Cockpit that will debut in the previously mentioned A8. There is a good chance that Audi offers Virtual Cockpit as a standard part of the equipment. So far, details about the interior have been scarce, but because of the new platform and longer wheelbase, the A6 is said to have more legroom in the rear.

2019 Audi A6 Release date

All three upcoming models – A6, A7, and A8 – will be based on the MLB Evo platform because of which all of these cars will shed some weight, resulting in enhanced performance and fuel economy. The midsize sedan should also receive a bigger trunk, but those who want extra cargo space will have to be patient because the larger A6 Avant will go on sale probably a year after the regular version. The Audi A8 will most likely debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, while the other two vehicles are due for 2018.
