2018 WWE Royal Rumble Will Be In Philly

The WWE Royal Rumble is one of the biggest events in sports, and it will be held in Philadelphia in 2018. WWE officially announced it on Thursday that the Royal Rumble will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia on January 28, 2018.

The Royal Rumble is important because it is when the countdown towards WrestleMania begins. It has also been confirmed that the WrestleMania 34 will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Speaking of the Royal Rumble, the event itself will be divided into four consecutive nights when the fans will be able to watch the best performers in the ring.

The evening before the Royal Rumble, NXT Takeover event will be held. For those who don’t know, the NXT is the WWE’s development league that is becoming more and more popular. The Wells Fargo Center will also be the place of WWE’s weekly shows Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live.

John Saboor, WWE Executive Vice President, Special Events, said in a statement “We are excited to have Philadelphia serve as host to one of WWE’s biggest events of 2018. We look forward to an unprecedented four consecutive nights of WWE action at Wells Fargo Center as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Royal Rumble.”

The 2018 Royal Rumble will mark the 30th anniversary and the last time it was held in Philadelphia was in 2015.

“We are very happy to continue Philadelphia’s amazing relationship with WWE by bringing Royal Rumble back to our city,” Larry Needle, Executive Director of PHL Sports, a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, said in a statement. He added, “We look forward to working closely with WWE to build a great fan experience for all those attending from around the world.”

This year, the WWE Royal Rumble is held in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday.
